Mel is an established senior marketing professional, operating in B2B and B2C Markets for over a decade in well recognised and established businesses such as the Olympic Park, informa, dmg events, Wilmington Legal and Montgomery Group, where she has been responsible for managing teams and launching events both domestic and international. Joining UK Black Business Show in 2024, Melissa delivered the highest attended show to date, hosting over 15,000 people at ExCel London. Melissa currently heads up the marketing department for the UK Black Business Show portfolio of 8 events and solutions.
A keen advocate for progression within underprivileged communities, Melissa has worked with multiple charitable incentives in a consulting and volunteering capacity, including Black Lives Matter and Urban Lawyers. In addition, Melissa has delivered projects such as the development of teaching materials for under-funded schools in the borough of Newham, surplus food distribution, and producing and hosting a 3-part online, IG series ‘Black Matters’.
In addition, Mel is the owner of boutique marketing and communications consultancy, 'Marketing Mel', as well as being a commissioned artist, selling paintings to commercial establishments and by personal client requests.
